At the South Coast Championships, the Ladies Junior Crew of Charlotte Batt, Erin Oliver, Kasia Koniec, Laura Viner and Cox Joe Bull became the first Lymington Ladies crew to win a South Coast Championship, well done to them. The Veteran 50s successfully defended their open title. A surprise win was Alex Barnes, who won Novice scull by a foot!
The Men's Junior crew had a good row in the Championship, but finished 4th. 4th was a popular position with Lymington crews that day with both the Senior Men and Junior Ladies also finishing 4th.
There were 2 J16 coxed quads. One was winning the heat, when equipment failure let them down. The other reached the final.
The AGM is on Friday 15th October at 7:30pm. All club members are entitled to stand for election to the committee and to vote on the membership rates for 2011. In particular there is no one standing for the position of "Junior Representative"
The Club Regatta is on Saturday 23rd October. This is a fun event with mixed crews picked on the day. Rowers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to row together over a 300m course from the barrier to the Yacht club. Registration is at 1:30pm, with racing starting at 3. There will be a party afterwards.
