    John O'Groats to Lands End

Last week 7 of us finished the John O'Groats to Lands End Cycle ride in aid of the rebuilding of Lymington Rowing Club.  We started with 8, but on day 4, south of Oban in west Scotland Marc Tremain suffered a collapsed rear wheel which brought his ride to a very sudden end.  The Ambulance arrived very quickly, but Marc now has a broken collar bone & dislocated shoulder and is facing 3 months off work.  I'm sure you will all join me in wishing Marc a full and speedy recovery.

With heavy hearts, the rest of continued and completed the 960 miles in 12 days.  We managed to pick about the wettest 12 days of the summer and only had 2 dry days.  It was still a very enjoyable and challenging experience.
