    March Update

We have now had the first Head race of the year at Christchurch.  With 16 crews representing Lymington our main problem was getting all the boats there in the first place.  There were wins for Alex Barnes (River Nov Scull) & Mike Leyland-Jones (Coastal Junior Scull) in addition to several second places.  The strongest field was Coastal Novice 4 where Lymington had 2 crews in the field of 14.  One crew was 6th, while the other was heading for a top 3 finish before a seat problem lead to a DNF.  For full results click here

The New Coastal four is ready and will be launched on Saturday 9th April at 4pm.  All club members are welcome to attend.  This will probably turn into a bit of a party afterward.

The 157th University Boat Race is on Saturday 26 March at 5pm.  Come and watch it at the club and enter our sweepstake.  The club will be open from 4pm.

You have until Sunday to order any rowing kit in time for the season from http://www.godfrey.co.uk/  To order:-

    1. Select Lymington from the drop down menu.
    2. Pick your item.  You will be charged £25 for a singlet & £43 for an All-in-one, even though it will show a higher price.  Other bespoke items will depend on the quantity.  The postage will also be lower than shown (About £2)
    3. In delivery address put "Collate order"  All the Lymington items will be sent to me in time for the Southampton 4s Head (17 April).

Circuit training will continue at Priestlands Gym until Wed 23 March.  £3 adults & £2 for Students & Juniors.

The London Olympics may seem a long way off (507 days), but if you want tickets you will need to register now and then apply for tickets between 15 March & 26 April this year.   http://www.london2012.com/  Payments can only be made by Visa card.
The club will be looking to go to the rowing at Dorney Lake http://www.dorneylake.co.uk/index.html on Wednesday 1 August 2012.  There will be 7 events including the Men's Eights Final.  The session is from 0930 - 1250 with tickets from £30.

Depending upon numbers and Olympic transport rules, I may arrange a bus from Lymington.
