    May Update 2012

Milford regatta is now less that 5 weeks away.  Saturday 9th June.

To cover the costs of the regatta, sponsorship in the programme is vital.  There will be 100 copies printed, which will be seen by around 200 - 300 rowers from 12 local rowing clubs, as well as spectators.  People or companies can also sponsor an event, this will be read out by the commentator over the PA system.  Please see the attachment.  Adverts to be returned with artwork by Saturday 20th May please.

In recent years we have provided our own safety cover at the regatta.  We will be using our own RIB, and one borrowed from the Town Sailing Club.  I would like to have a spare available in case of breakdown.  This would be anchored off the beach and only used if one of the others breaks down.  Does anyone know of a RIB that we could borrow?  The club would pay for any fuel used.

I am also looking for any RYA level 2 qualified drivers.  Usually each driver only needs to do around 60 - 90 minutes on the water.  Parents and friends of members would be most welcome too.

I will put up a list of regatta jobs on the club notice board

The Ladies Senior won the Southampton Fours Head.  We think this is the first Coastal Fours win for a Lymington Senior Ladies crew.  The Men's Novice crew were second to Coalporters.  The Ladies' Junior & Vet 50s crews were 3rd and the Senior Men were 4th.

The regatta season proper starts on Saturday 12 May at Bournemouth (Weather permitting)
